- I am the father of Rachel and Erik Elliott. Rachel was killed by a drunk driver on February 21, 2008 in Corona, California. This has been the worst year of my life. I am 46 years old and my wife Jill and I have been married now for 20 years. We currently reside in Orland, California. I began this blog because I want people to be able to witness the human cost of DUI. We read the headlines, but the devastation that is visited upon the loved ones of those who are lost to DUI homicide is lagely hidden from the public. Though Rachel is the one who was killed, there is a trail of destruction that spreads far and wide into the lives of everyone who knew and loved her. I am only one of those people, but even in my life the cost is inestimable - and the pain almost more than I can bear...
